Flyball started as a dog sport in the late 1960s in America. It was initially a combined scent hurdle racing with the dogs then bringing a tennis ball to the finish line. The tennis ball launching apparatus was then added and the first flyball box was born. The sport has then continued to grow and in the UK is one of the biggest crowd pleasers at Crufts.
We talked to Daniel Allen-Ross who has been competing in the sport for 4 of years after trying a taster day with his springer spaniel.
What is flyball and what attracted you to it?
