Testicular Cancer in Dogs

The K9 Trail Time Members Site

Cancer is one of those things that we hear about all the time, but we really don’t want anything to do with. This goes for us as humans and also our dogs.

Testicular cancer and a decline in semen quality is hypothesised to be associated with exposure to anthropogenic chemicals (environmental pollutants), especially during fetal development. Human studies currently suggest that different exposures to environmental chemicals may be associated with geographical differences in male reproductive health. This study looks at dogs testicular chemical profiles from dogs residing in the UK (west midlands, east midlands and south east), Denmark and Finland using testes that were surplus from routine castrations.
